The historic town of Mostar developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict, however, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge was destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO.

Medjugorje ("Between the Hills") is a village in the southern part of Herzegovina. The small parish of about 4,000 has become famous due to a series of reported visions of the Virgin Mary that began in 1981 and still continue today.
Although the apparitions have not been validated by the Catholic Church and therefore official pilgrimages are not allowed, the Shrine of the Queen of Peace at Medjugorje attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year.

Experience Traditional Herzegovinian Dinner in Rural SurroundingHome made food, natural surrounding, delicious food and excellent vines will satisfy all your needs

As a tourist you always want to experience the country you are visiting as much as you can. See the monuments, enjoy the nature, find peace or go out and have some fun. Moreover, meet local people and try to speak their language. One big part of that experience is the local food and drinks.

Herzegovina is a specific area, known by rocks, hot summers, and some specific cultures as well. Notable to mention are specific kinds of grapes; Žilavka and Blatina, which are the best for producing vine. These Herzegovinian vines have won many prizes on international level and belong to a group of good quality vines. Besides that, people usually grow fond of fig, cherry or pomegranate when they go home from Herzegovina.

If you sit down to eat with local people in their homes you will probably find homemade prosciutto and bacon that is made on rough Herzegovinian wind called Bura. Also, there are many kinds of cheese, cream made of milk and many different slates like Ajvar (local chutney). All of this you can mix with a local specialty called “Uštipci”.

However, all of these are just words that can’t describe the real taste of food. That is why we are offering you special Local Dinners that are prepared in a traditional way by local people in rural areas.

Appetizer:
  1. Local liquors made of cherries, walnuts, raspberries, blackberries, prosciutto and bacon served with famous cheese from Livno and Uštipci!.
  2. Local liquors made of cherries, walnuts, raspberries, blackberries, and a seasonal salad (vegetarian).

Main course:
  1. Herzegovinian casserole (cooked veal with potatoes, carrots, fresh paprika and flakes), seasonal salads.
  2. Barbecue specialties (“ćevapčići” – local specialty, sausages, bacon, chicken meat, pork neck, etc.).
  3. Herzegovinian potato made with “corn flour”, salad (vegetarian).

Mostar City Tour – designed by those who are part of the soul of this city !
The Old Bridge,UNESCO World Heritage Site, connects the cobblestone streets of Mostar’s old town on either side of the river, as well as the mix of Ottoman, Western and Mediterranean influences that shaped this charming place.
Walking through Mostar is a walk through the past. Its ancient walls tell timeless tales of the way it used to be. Its present struggle to keep its identity as a multi-ethnic community is an inspiring model for the future.
Experience Bosnia Herzegovina’s most photographed city!

This private tour includes hotel pick up and drop off from accommodation in Mostar, visiting all the main sights of the city.
The city of Mostar is situated in a beautiful valley bedded between high mountains of Herzegovina. It is thanks to the river Neretva that Mostar was able to develop as a city in the desert-like landscape. Neretva’s size turned Mostar very early in to a trading centre of the region. The world-famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) of white stone spanning the turquoise waters of the river is Mostar’s main symbol. The bridge’s swooping stone arch was originally built between 1557 and 1566 on the orders of Suleyman the Magnificent. It was the great architect Mimar Hajrudin, the disciple and the colleague of the greatest architect from the Ottoman Empire, Mimar Sinan, who had succeded with the almost impossible mission to cross the Neretva river with a single span stone bridge. The bridge has always been Mostar’s raison d’être.
Mostar is an extraordinary town in every sense of the word!
Its beauty goes far beyond its ancient “Old Town” and the Old bridge that once stood uniting the city over the emerald Neretva River. The Mediterranean climate makes it the warmest city in Bosnia&Herzegovina. Its days are mostly sunny with clear blue skies and the Neretva River turns the dry arid surrounding green with figs, grapes, pomegranates, kiwis, mandarin and lemons. The fertile grounds along the entire Neretva valley have made Mostar a settlement dating back over 10,000 years.
Sites to see include: Old town and Old Bazaar, including a comprehensive tour of the Old bridge with its towers, meet and greet with members of the infamous Diving club Mostari, refreshing drink in unique Čardak (watch tower) coffee shop (optionally), witness an amazing awe inspiring 25metre dive from the Old Bridge (optionally), War museum, art galleries. You will see also: Crooked BridgeOttoman Residences (16th–19th century), Public Turkish Bath (hammam), natural cave in the heart of the Old town, Clock tower (sahat-kula), Koski Mehmed-pasha Mosque, Hadži-Kurt Mosque or Tabačica, Metropolitan Palace (1908), Karagöz Bey Mosque (1557), ex first line of the front Boulevard, west part of the city with a big park and much more.
Note: The tickets for the visit of the mosques, museums and Ottoman house are not included in the price. Our goal is to show you all the places of interest in the city and you choose whether you want them to visit depending on your preferences.

You will be discovering 2 of the finest boutique wineries that the Mostar area has to offer, and having a day of wine adventuring, gorgeous views, and fun. Plan for a delightful  5 – 6 hour day tour packed with wine, views, and laughs.
Leave the city behind and take a relaxing day tour into the countryside where we combine the best of the history, the Neretva river valley, and the vines. You’ll discover some of our favourite hidden treasures and sample a wide variety of the Herzegovinian’s finest indigenous wines.
As we make our way south of Mostar, enjoy the views as we take you through the picturesque Imperial vineyards and magnificent valley of Neretva river.  These vineyards date back to the Austro-Hungarian times when the golden age of our viticulture began by the revival of wine-growing, which was done by the Habsburgs.
Our journey  to the wine country from the picture-postcard valley of Neretva river takes us up winding hill roads. The view below of a patchwork of bright green vineyards is truly breathtaking. Andrija wine cellar is situated at the very heart of this hilly region. The high quality Andrija wines are the result of natural blessings like its sunny slopes, karst soil structure, famous bora and jugo winds and favorable Mediterranean climate. Here we will visit  the house of the rural tourism and winery Andrija Paoča, we will drive with the wine train to the vineyards where we have an opportunity to learn about history of wine growing in this area, and taste the wine and local food ( homemade young cheese “Škripavac”, homemade bread, smoked ham etc)
Then we will pass on to the Brkić wine cellar in the town of Čitluk. Using biodynamic practices and indigenous grapes, Brkić is making very pure and effusive wines and Mjesečar, a skin-fermented white wine made from 100% Žilavka, is exceptional. Mjesečar means the Moon Walker in Bosnian and it is Josip’s first wine made in a complete organic way. Sitting around the table, drinking wine and eating famous sheep cheese, local high quality olive oil, fig jam and homemade prosciutto  with the Brkić family, you feel like you’ve been invited into a family member’s home for a pleasant getaway.
This wine tasting include 5 samples in each cellar.
To keep you going on this full-day wine extravaganza, we will stop for a delicious lunch (optionally) at one of the best restaurants on the hills. Here we can find the best lamb on the spit. In this restaurant, it is also possible to taste home-made table wines and other delicious local products. When you marry a good wine with a local gastronomy such as Herzegovinian prosciutto, cheese, lamb or brodeto (a stew made from frogs and eels) then the pleasure is ultimate.
